Consumer Protection Class Action Lawsuit

Consumers can be misled to purchase a product when sellers misrepresent the quality or nature of that product. Consumers can be cheated when service providers—such as contractors, money lenders or insurance companies—overcharge consumers or fail to provide consumers with the services promised.

Under Florida’s consumer protection laws, “[u]nfair methods of competition, unconscionable acts or practices, and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce are hereby declared unlawful.” Fla. Stat. § 501.204. The act, use or employment of deception, fraud, and/or misrepresentation by a person, business or other entity may be grounds for a lawsuit to recover funds on behalf of the consumer.

If you purchased a product or service and you have reason to believe that the seller or service provider has acted in a deceptive or fraudulent manner, you may be eligible for compensation.
